Nature Travel has always been the main attraction of the tourists who hunted during a visit to a place. If this is what you’re looking for in Korea, then you must make time to come to the National Park Seoraksan. Being in Gangwan-Do Province, Mount Seoraksan included in the National Park covering 16,365 hectares Seoraksan. With the 1708-meter-high peak, Seoraksan is the third highest mountain in Korea. He was included in the lined the Taebaek mountain which stretches about 500 kilometers along the east side of the Korean peninsula.
Peak tourist visit to the National Park Seoraksan usually occurs during summer vacation around July-August, this period is ideal for walking down the park and enjoy the natural green, however, if you want to avoid the crowds and prices soar, it is worth visiting during the winter until late spring around February and March. Mount Seoraksan snow white landscape presents a no less spectacular.
There are three main gates to reach the National Park Seoraksan, namely Seorak Outer, Inner Seorak, and Southern Seorak. The most easily accessible and very popular is the Outer Seorak, not far from the city Sockho seaside. Facilities and infrastructure here is very supportive, such as transportation and lodging.
From Outer Seorak, is the cable car that can bring visitors to the top Seoraksan. Stretching along the rocky slope of about 1.1 kilometers, it takes only less than 10 minutes from the bottom up to the post at the top of the mountain. From the post, visitors can still climb to the top of the spectacular granite Seoraksan. Do not worry if you have never climbed the mountain, because the route was made of the ladder and have a hand so that parents can even pass through.
There is also Gwongeumseong, the fort at an altitude of 850 meters above sea level (asl). The fort was reportedly built two burly men, Gwon and Gim, during the Goryeo Dynasty (around 1254) to counter the Mongol invasion. Mount Seoraksan most beautiful scenery can be seen from this fort.
